The school, the hostel and our associated buildings used to pay an electricity bill of Rs.6 lacs per annum. In 2017, we got CSR funds of Rs.20 lacs from a company to install solar panels and net billing metres in the school and the hostel. In 2021 we got Rs. 9 lacs from the Embassy of Netherlands for another solar energy project. This total capacity of 80 KW has now enabled us to bring our electricity bill to zero. We have thus been able to achieve a saving of Rs. 6 lacs in our annual expenditure.
