Shri Sanyal has taken over as President of HSS in May 2013 after the post became vacant on the sad demise of the previous President Shri Radhkishan Malvia. He has had held senior positions in the corporate world and has been a reputed social worker all his life. He has been associated with Harijan Sewak Sangh in senior positions over last 30 years.
Shri Sanyal is an advocate in Kolkata High Court and is also a management and industrial consultant. He is also serving as President of Howrah Chamber of Industry and Commerce. He has had a deep involvement with small and medium industry and is serving as Managing Director of Bengal HCCI Infrastructure Ltd. He is also a member of State Level Advisory Board attached to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of West Bengal.
On his social responsibilities, Shr Sanyal is General Secretary, Akhil Bharat Rachnatmak Samaj, General Secretary of Rural Development Consortium and General Secretary of People’s Forum for Sri Chaitnya Mahaprabhu.
He has also received many awards for his social work These include: National Unity Award from Giani Zail Singh, President of India, in 1990, International Man of the Year 1997-98 awarded by International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England, Bangabandhu Mujibar Rehman International Award hfrom Government of Bangladesh and Corporate Energy Management Award from Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management among others.
Shri Laxmi dass has been working as Secretary of HSS since August 2008..He has served an earlier tenure also on this position and as Vice President of the organization from 1983 to 1988. He joined Vinoba ji’s Sarvodaya movement from an early age and has devoted his entire life to social work. He was Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Board during the Prime Ministership of Shri Rajiv Gandhi.
He has an abiding interest in rural reconstruction and rural industries. He is Chairman of Akhil Bhartiya Gramodyog Mahasangh (a National Cofederation). He has served in many distinguished positions in his career as a social worker and a professional including General Secretary of All India Khet Mazdoor Kisan Parishad, Member Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Bhoodan Yagna Board.
He is presently Chairman of Gandhi Smark Prakritik Chikitsa Samiti, Rajghat and Chairman of Kangra Co-operative Bank.
Shri Naresh Yadav, Vice-President, HSS belongs to Bihar and has been active social and political worker from the days when he was a youth, 20 years old. He is M.A., LLB and has worked as Advocate in District Session Court in Katihar and Lecturer in Political Science in BM College, Barari, District Katihar. He was very active in JP Movement and went to jail many times, as a savior of democracy.
Shri Yadav was elected as member of Rajya Sabha in 1994 and has worked in many All India Committees and Associations. He was on National Executive of Yuva Lokdal and in Committees of Parliament on Transport and Tourism, Railway, Petitions and consultative Committee for Ministry of Coal. He is President of Sarvodaya Ashram Gandhi Ghar, Kursela, Katihar (Bihar) and Executive Committee Member of AVRS. He is an eminent social worker.
Dr. Rajnish Kumar is a young Gandhian who is presently Secretary of the Harijan Sevak Sangh, New Delhi. He is deeply influenced by the Gandhian philosophy of peace and abstinence. Dr. Kumar is also the Secretary of Rajghat Samadhi Committee, the resting place of Gandhiji. As President of All India Prohibition Council (Nashabandhi Parishad), New Delhi, he is a staunch campaigner for complete prohibition in India.He conducts advocacy programmes with strong proponent of total prohibition all over the country in collaboration with the State Govt. institutions and NGOs to start a satyagraha struggle to force the government to abolish the sale of liquors on non-violent lines. He has also represented India in various international seminars in UK, China and many more.
He is also involved with Shanti Sena or "Peace Army", which is made up of Gandhi's followers in India. He is also a Member of Governing Body of Akhil Bhartiya Rachnatmak Samaj, New Delhi. Dr. Kumar holds Phd. and Master’s Degree in Gandhian Studies. Though it is difficult to practice Gandhian principles and philosophy,Dr. Rajnish Kumar believes that doing so is the only way towards developing a truly democratic and peaceful society to implement Gandhiji’s dream of Poorna Swaraj.
Dr. Ramesh Kumar is one of the two Secretaries of Harijan Sewak Sangh. He is an academician, author, political analyst, Gandhian and social activist. Presently he is an associate professor of political science and acting principal of Shyamlal College (Evening), a 100% Govt college under University of Delhi. He has authored a book, written more than 25 articles in high quality research journals, magazines, newspapers and presented over 30 papers in national and international conferences in India and abroad. For his contribution to the society, he was acknowledged with SHIKHAR SAMMAN by RTI association of India. He visited nearly 60 gram panchayats, 2o districts and few zila parishads to conduct a need based survey study to prepare self learning print – audio-visual material to create awareness and train newly elected Panchayati Raj Functionaries to realise Gandhian vision of the village republic under a GOI sponsored project. He along with the other Secretary of the Sangh has wide ranging administrative responsibilities in running the affairs of the Sangh at the headquarters and all over India.
Mr. Shyam Suri is a retired IAS officer (UP,1964). He took an early retirement from the IAS after about 30 years of service and subsequently worked as Secretary General of Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India for about nine years. He has been associated with KBV since 2006 in a voluntary capacity and in 2008 raised funds for construction of a new water tank in the school at a cost of Rs. 5,00,000. He served as a member of Managing Committee of KBV for about two years before being appointed as its Manager. He took charge of this position on 15 June 2009. He spends lot of time in the school and looks after all aspects of its working including administration, finance and academics. He is keenly interested in the results and monitors it closely with teachers and students. This has led to a high reputation of KBV for its results of all classes which are one of the best among all aided schools in Delhi. Mr. Suri has been taking a keen interest in raising of funds for the school and this has resulted in a comfortable financial position of the school. His being a retired IAS officer has helped him in raising CSR funds from corporate entities both in the public and private sector. The high annual deficits in the accounts of the school and the hostel (Rs 37 lacs in 2015-16) have been fully covered during the last six years.
Mr. Suri also works as Advisor in RIG Institute of Hospitality and management in Greater Noida and is busy in some social cause
Mrs Sharma has been promoted as Vice Principal since September 2021. Earlier she was working as In charge of the school since July 2020 after retirement of Mrs. Manmohini as Vice Principal. As there is no Principal in the school,
she functions as the Principal. She has been working in the school since 1998, first as TGT Sanskrit and as PGT Sanskrit since 2007. She is still taking her teaching load after the promotion.
Mrs Sharma is MA, B.Ed.
